 April 8, 2011 - Philadelphia Style and CBS 3 Honor Philadelphia Native and Designer Ralph Rucci receives PIFA Fashion Visionary Award during Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts on Friday, April 8, 2011 at Kimmel Center.

In Philadelphia, not far from New York, the fashion capital of America, a Philadelphia native, who became the only American-based designer in more than 60 years (since Mainbocher) to be invited to show his clothing in the official Paris Haute Couture fashion week enjoys the unhurried atmosphere at  the VIP reception.  Camera flashes keep a steady, unobtrusive pace and photographers do not step on each other’s toes.  The security guards observe the room from a relaxing distance. Yes, Philadelphia is only 80 miles away from New York, however it is marvelously distant from the grueling world of NY fashion.  Here, in Philadelphia, the strict rules, the tight schedules, and  the unforgiving competition seem to take a break and the catwalk is no longer an abyss that engulfed so many men and women of artistic background, but rather a love affair of the hopeful artists and the unpretentious audience.   The stage gives rise to a blend of prosaic zeal and fascinating suavity, where participants do not loose their convictions and  the audiences remains yearning for more.

The honorary guest, Spring 2011 Philadelphia Style magazine cover star, designer Ralph Rucci, of the CHADO RALPH RUCCI clothing line receives PIFA Fashion Visionary Award.   Rucci is a South Philadelphia native and Temple University graduate, has been twice nominated for the Council of Fashion Desginers of America's Womenswear Designer of the Year Award.

CherylAna's atelier is a social and environmentally reflective company. Made in the USA.  Botanical dyes, low impact dyes or naturally color-grown fabrics and finishings, used in products are not harmful to the environment or skin.  Notable specialty textiles are hand-selected in creating the collection.  Having worked with Cheryl, it's impossible not to share her passion for creating a product with authenticity, environmental conscience, integrity, purity and purpose.   Not to mention, her work won me over!

Diane Von Furstenberg Fall 2011 Collection by Yvan Muspelaere came together as a display of casual riches and warm comforts.  Beautiful saturated colors, soft fabrics, bold art deco patterns - all created a look of casual confidence, wealth and comfort.  The look of casual luxe was a heartwarming pallet of  playful colors, eccentric prints, and "mini-me-forget-me-not" accessories.
